"(Opened from personal storage.) This has evolved somewhat more positively than I imagined and still has at least some potential remaining. The nose initially reveals considerable stem influence but after 45 minutes of airing, the spice and dark fruit elements began to assert themselves with the overall impression being one of elegance, purity and impressive complexity. The firm middle weight plus flavors are detailed, minerally, powerful and beautifully focused, all wrapped in a lingering finish of superb length. This is classy juice and while the '93 Riche can be drunk with pleasure now it will hold for decades to come as there are still relatively firm tannins. Tasted on multiple occasions, including several bottles over the last three years, with largely consistent results . . ."
