"The 2010 Mosyca is a blend of 40% Monastrell [aka Mourvèdre], 20% Syrah, 20% Cabernet and 20% Petit Verdot aged for 12 months in oak barrels (20% of which are new), a Mediterranean blend lifted by the Bordeaux grapes, with fine tannins, a little spiky maybe, good persistence, ripe fruit, balanced, wood well-integrated, and a long, persistent finish. Spicy, round and serious. The French grapes tend to overpower the aromas as the wine develops in the glass. A cerebral, solid blend."

Spain has the largest area under vine of any country and a deep tradition of oak-aged reds. Tempranillo-based wines from Rioja and Ribera del Duero, alongside Priorat's Garnacha and Carinena, anchor its fine-wine reputation.
The world's most planted premium red grape, yielding deeply colored, tannic and structured wines with cassis, cedar and graphite notes. Firm tannins and acidity make it exceptionally age-worthy, whether as a varietal or the backbone of a Bordeaux blend.
A late-ripening red lending structure, dark fruit and gamey, meaty complexity to southern Rhone and Mediterranean blends.
A deeply colored, tannic Bordeaux blending grape adding color, structure and floral, spicy complexity in small proportions.
Syrah (Shiraz) produces dark, powerful reds with black fruit, pepper and smoked-meat notes. It yields elegant, perfumed wines in the northern Rhone and bold, rich styles in Australia.
