"The 2007 Montevertine is a joyous wine. Medium in body yet irresistibly opulent, the 2007 Montevertine presents a rich fabric of red fruit framed by silky, impossibly fine tannins. Unlike the 2006 which was much firmer at this stage, the 2007 is ripe, open and beautifully accessible. Readers who prefer more tertiary nuance will undoubtedly want to cellar this, but opening a bottle now is far from a crime. The wine’s inner perfume and gorgeous balance render it highly enjoyable even today. Montevertine is Sangiovese with a dash of Canaiolo and Colorino."

Italy grows more indigenous grape varieties than any other country and produces wine in all 20 of its regions. From Piedmont's Nebbiolo to Tuscany's Sangiovese, its finest wines pair structure and bright acidity with a strong sense of place.
The heartland of Sangiovese, producing Chianti Classico, Brunello di Montalcino and the Cabernet-influenced 'Super Tuscans' of the coast. Its wines balance bright acidity, savory structure and cellar-worthiness.
Tuscany's signature red, giving high-acid, savory wines of sour cherry, herbs and firm tannin. It is the backbone of Chianti, Brunello and many Super Tuscans.
