"The 2010 Rompecabezas is a wine of notable concentration, power and depth. A striking wine, the 2010 impresses for its dense, totally primary fruit. The aromatics have yet to fully develop in a full-bodied red that is clearly endowed with superb textural finesse and elegance. With time in the glass hints of sage, rosemary and dark red fruit begin to emerge, but only with great reluctance. The 2010 is 37% Grenache, 33% Mourvedre and 30% Syrah, done with 20% whole clusters and aged in a combination of neutral oak and concrete. Today, it is drop-dead gorgeous."

The fourth-largest wine producer in the world, led by California. American fine wine is defined by ripe, expressive fruit and a spirit of innovation, with Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon among the most sought-after wines globally.
A warm-climate red giving generous, high-alcohol wines of red fruit and spice. It anchors southern Rhone blends and old-vine wines in Spain and Australia.
A late-ripening red lending structure, dark fruit and gamey, meaty complexity to southern Rhone and Mediterranean blends.
Syrah (Shiraz) produces dark, powerful reds with black fruit, pepper and smoked-meat notes. It yields elegant, perfumed wines in the northern Rhone and bold, rich styles in Australia.
