"Because of the hail in 2013, there is only a single bottling of Meursault this year, rather than two cuvées, and the wine has turned out very well indeed. The bouquet offers up a fine and very minerally constellation of apple, quince, chalky mineral tones, almonds and a topnote of citrus peel. On the palate the wine is deep, full-bodied, long and very nicely reserved in style out of the blocks, with a lovely core, fine focus and cut and superb backend energy on the long and primary finish. Fine juice."

2013 in Burgundy was a difficult, cool and hail-hit year with a late harvest and small crop; the wines are fresh, lean and classically styled, with bright acidity and firm structure, especially the reds.
The world's most versatile white grape, producing everything from steely Chablis to rich, oaked whites. Its neutrality makes it a mirror of terroir and winemaking, and the foundation of white Burgundy and Champagne.
