"The 2004 Torrione, a dark ruby, opens with suggestions of freshly cut roses, spices and a hint of white truffle. Fresh and vibrant, this medium-bodied 100% Sangiovese offers plenty of fruit with outstanding length and fine tannins on the finish. The 2004 is a more linear expression than the rounder 2003 and will require another year or two in bottle to drink at its finest."

Italy grows more indigenous grape varieties than any other country and produces wine in all 20 of its regions. From Piedmont's Nebbiolo to Tuscany's Sangiovese, its finest wines pair structure and bright acidity with a strong sense of place.
The heartland of Sangiovese, producing Chianti Classico, Brunello di Montalcino and the Cabernet-influenced 'Super Tuscans' of the coast. Its wines balance bright acidity, savory structure and cellar-worthiness.
