"Peter Jakob Kühn went from obscurity to fame in the course of the 1990s, but unsatisfied, four years ago he set himself new challenges (including bio-dynamic practices) in the vineyards and cellar. Scrupulously organic viticulture, spontaneous fermentation, maceration, long lees contact, late bottling, and above all a willingness to respect the contingencies of nature are among the approaches . . . . But the strikingly distinctive personality of each of Kühn's many bottlings is precisely what surprises and delights, not to mention, he says, what makes it interesting and fun to pursue his vocation. It would be hard to conceive of Rheingau Riesling stylistically less like that of Kuhn’s neighbors, the Spreitzers.

The spiritual home of Riesling, producing wines of piercing acidity, precision and longevity across a spectrum from bone-dry to lusciously sweet. Cool, steep-sloped vineyards along the Mosel and Rhine yield some of the world's most delicate, long-lived whites.
A historic Riesling region along the Rhine, producing racier, often drier wines of structure and mineral depth from south-facing slopes.
A highly aromatic white of piercing acidity and transparency to terroir, ranging from bone-dry to lusciously sweet. It ages remarkably and is the noble grape of Germany and Alsace.
