"The 2006 Clos de la Bussière had only been bottled two weeks before my visit in March, but the wine was still showing in fine form and had not yet shut down. The bouquet is deep and as is the case for several of the recent vintages of this wine, very polite in its youth (by Clos de la Bussière historical standards). The bouquet offers up a fine blend or red berries, black cherries, woodsmoke, a fine base of nervy minerality and a distinctive note of mustard seed with a bit of time in the glass. On the palate the wine is full-bodied, deep and ripely tannic, with a fine core of fruit, lovely focus and balance, and impressive tang and sappiness on the long and intensely flavored finish. A terrific Clos de la Bussière in the making."

The world's most influential fine-wine producer and the benchmark for Bordeaux, Burgundy, Champagne and the Rhone. Its appellation (AOC) system codifies geography, grape and method, and its wines set the global standard for age-worthiness and terroir expression.
Produces the world's most revered Pinot Noir and Chardonnay from a mosaic of tiny, terroir-defined climats. Its hierarchy of village, Premier Cru and Grand Cru vineyards makes site the ultimate expression of quality.
A thin-skinned, terroir-sensitive red producing perfumed, silky and elegant wines of red-berry fruit and earthy complexity. It reaches its apogee in Burgundy.
