"La Torre's 2010 Brunello di Montalcino is one of the most interesting wines of the vintage. Luigi Anania (with vineyards in the Sant'Angelo in Colle subzone) is a tried and true Brunello traditionalist who ages his wine in large oak casks for three and a half years. Despite that delicate approach, this wine is packed tight with power, color, enduring intensity and brooding masculinity. Instead of obvious fruit tones, your senses are awarded an exciting medley of balsam herb, cola, licorice and blackcurrant. This Brunello is dark, savory and timid. It needs more time to soften and evolve. Despite its youth, it already shows a high level of complexity."

Italy grows more indigenous grape varieties than any other country and produces wine in all 20 of its regions. From Piedmont's Nebbiolo to Tuscany's Sangiovese, its finest wines pair structure and bright acidity with a strong sense of place.
The heartland of Sangiovese, producing Chianti Classico, Brunello di Montalcino and the Cabernet-influenced 'Super Tuscans' of the coast. Its wines balance bright acidity, savory structure and cellar-worthiness.
A powerful, age-worthy Sangiovese from the warm hills of Montalcino, requiring extended aging and prized for depth and longevity.
Tuscany's signature red, giving high-acid, savory wines of sour cherry, herbs and firm tannin. It is the backbone of Chianti, Brunello and many Super Tuscans.
