"The elegance of 2009 is very much in evidence in the Clos St. Jacques this year as well. The wine was raised in thirty percent new oak in this vintage, with another thirty percent one year-old barrels and the balance older wood. The nose is deep, classy and beautifully complex, as it jumps from the glass in a blend of black cherries, dark plums, coffee, a great base of soil, fresh herbs and a very discreet framing of wood. On the palate the wine is deep, full-bodied, complex and completely refined, with a sappy core of fruit, suave tannins, bright acids and superb length and grip on the flawless finish. Just a great young vintage of Jadot Clos St. Jacques."

2009 in Burgundy was warm and sunny, producing ripe, rich and generous reds of hedonistic charm and supple tannins; the whites are opulent but can lack acidity, making them best enjoyed relatively young.
