"The 2010 Chaignots from Elodie Michelot is another absolutely superb Nuits premier cru. The very pure and sappy nose of red and black cherries, red plums, raw cocoa, gamebirds, a lovely base of soil and a smoky topnote. On the palate the wine is deep, full-bodied and very pure on the attack, with Chaignots’ classic plummy generosity, lovely transparency, a plush core of fruit, tangy acids and fine focus and nascent complexity on the ripely tannic and very classy finish. Fine juice in the making here."
