93+ JG "The 2009 Corton “Grèves” from Jadot shows a slightly 'cooler' aromatic profile in its very complex mélange of red and black cherries, herb tones, venison, stony soil tones, vinesmoke, coffee and cedar. On the palate the wine is deep, full-bodied and beautifully focused, with a rock solid core of fruit, striking transparency, ripe tannins and fine, tangy acids perking up the long and soil-driven finish. This is quite a classic and superb example of young Corton and to my palate, slightly edges out the fine Pougets in 2009."

The world's most influential fine-wine producer and the benchmark for Bordeaux, Burgundy, Champagne and the Rhone. Its appellation (AOC) system codifies geography, grape and method, and its wines set the global standard for age-worthiness and terroir expression.
Produces the world's most revered Pinot Noir and Chardonnay from a mosaic of tiny, terroir-defined climats. Its hierarchy of village, Premier Cru and Grand Cru vineyards makes site the ultimate expression of quality.
Aloxe-Corton is a village AOC in Burgundy's Cote de Beaune, ringing the Corton hill and holding Premier Cru vineyards; it produces mostly firm, structured, earthy Pinot Noir reds built for medium-term aging.
2009 in Burgundy was warm and sunny, producing ripe, rich and generous reds of hedonistic charm and supple tannins; the whites are opulent but can lack acidity, making them best enjoyed relatively young.
A thin-skinned, terroir-sensitive red producing perfumed, silky and elegant wines of red-berry fruit and earthy complexity. It reaches its apogee in Burgundy.
