"The 2000 Barolo Cerequio is one of my all-time favorite wines from Roberto Voerzio. Sadly, I haven’t had the discipline to keep my hands off the bottles, but I am not the least bit sorry, because they have all been breathtaking. The 2000 Cerequio blossoms on the palate with a burst of small red berries, followed by sweet spices, freshly cut roses, mint and eucalyptus. It possesses gorgeous inner perfume and the silkiest of tannins. The 2000 remains remarkably fresh, with just the faintest signs of early tertiary development. This is for me the reference-point wine from the Cerequio vineyard."

Italy grows more indigenous grape varieties than any other country and produces wine in all 20 of its regions. From Piedmont's Nebbiolo to Tuscany's Sangiovese, its finest wines pair structure and bright acidity with a strong sense of place.
In Italy's northwest, Piedmont is home to Nebbiolo, the grape behind the powerful, perfumed and long-lived reds of Barolo and Barbaresco. Fog-shrouded hills and calcareous soils define its greatest wines.
The 'King of Wines,' a powerful, tannic and perfumed Nebbiolo from Piedmont's Langhe hills, celebrated for tar-and-roses aromatics and extraordinary aging potential.
