"(A special 200-case cuvee made for the U.S. importer; 45% cabernet sauvignon, 25% tempranillo and 15% each of syrah and merlot) Saturated ruby. Dense, smoky, powerful scents of cherry liqueur, cured meat, minerals and toasty oak. Pliant and chewy on the palate, with sweet cassis and blackberry flavors accented by baking spices and fresh rose. Serious tannins emerge on the finish, suggesting that this needs some cellar time."

Spain has the largest area under vine of any country and a deep tradition of oak-aged reds. Tempranillo-based wines from Rioja and Ribera del Duero, alongside Priorat's Garnacha and Carinena, anchor its fine-wine reputation.
The world's most planted premium red grape, yielding deeply colored, tannic and structured wines with cassis, cedar and graphite notes. Firm tannins and acidity make it exceptionally age-worthy, whether as a varietal or the backbone of a Bordeaux blend.
Spain's noble red grape, producing structured, savory wines of red fruit and leather that respond beautifully to oak aging in Rioja and Ribera del Duero.
