"The 2011 Gratallops is the equivalent of a village and consists of 35% Carinena (part from Manyettes) to complement the Garnacha. 2011 is the first vintage without any French varieties in the wine. All grapes are sourced from vineyards in the village of Gratallops (the label has the names of the plots used each year). Bright cherry-colored, with a subtle nose of ripe cherries and dark plums, Mediterranean herbs, it also has a fresh touch of orange rind. The palate is medium-bodied with very good acidity and silky tannins in a wine that is both powerful and elegant, juicy and clean. Very persistent. It will need a little bit of time to polish the tannins."

Spain has the largest area under vine of any country and a deep tradition of oak-aged reds. Tempranillo-based wines from Rioja and Ribera del Duero, alongside Priorat's Garnacha and Carinena, anchor its fine-wine reputation.
A rugged Catalan region whose steep llicorella slate slopes produce dense, mineral Garnacha and Carinena. Low yields and old vines give wines of great intensity and concentration.
One of only two wines with Spain's top DOQ status, yielding dense, mineral Garnacha and Carinena from steep slate slopes.
A warm-climate red giving generous, high-alcohol wines of red fruit and spice. It anchors southern Rhone blends and old-vine wines in Spain and Australia.
