"100% vinified in wood; Billaud is of the belief that Blanchot is the most mineral-dominated cru in Chablis, indeed so much so that it can be a brutal and violent wine that must be "tamed" by the wood, hence the different vinification philosophy; the Billaud vines directly abut Les Clos. Here too there is discreet wood influence combining with floral and white peach aromas that precede the big, rich, powerful and painfully intense flavors that explode into a citrus and mineral suffused finish that seems to go on and on. I very much like the textured quality of the finish that really coats the mouth as well."
