"Full medium ruby. Pure aromas of cassis, blackberry and black pepper, complicated by a Northern Rhone-like gunflint character. Intensely flavored and serious, with powerful stony flavors and a pronounced smoky, gunflinty quality. Plenty ripe but not jammy or sweet. Not at all your typical zinfandel, but a singular wine with a very long finish."
