"The 1991 Pinot Noir from the Sanford and Benedict Vineyard exhibits a complex nose of black fruits, bacon fat, and sweet, toasty, vanillin-scented new oak. This wonderfully rich wine possesses vivid, as well as copious amounts of opulent black-cherry fruit, admirable lushness, a voluptuous feel on the palate, and a terrific, dazzling finish. A super Pinot Noir, it is another example of how remarkable the Sanford and Benedict Vineyard is for Pinot . . . . The Hitching Post is a highly regarded restaurant owned by Gray Hartley and Frank Ostini. Their Pinot Noirs are sold only at the restaurant. The owners are true wine fanatics, as is evidenced by the high quality of these Pinot Noirs."
