"From a 0.25 ha parcel situated in Aloxe that is on the Ladoix border, aged in 65% new wood. By contrast to the Bourgogne, this is wonderfully fresh, airy and bright with citrus and green apple aromas trimmed in a bit of wood spice that complement perfectly the big, rich and gorgeously intense full-bodied flavors that seem to be extracted directly from liquid rock, all wrapped in a palate staining and explosively long finish . . . . the flavor authority and purity of expression are flat out terrific. One to buy. Note that this will require some time because it is quite austere and backward at present."
