"The holdings from which Maison Jadot produce their Beaune 'Grèves' are all located up at the top of the slope of this large vineyard, which is clearly where the best examples hail from. The 2009 is outstanding, as it offers up a complex and classy nose of black cherries, dark berries, espresso, a touch of fresh herbs, woodsmoke, complex soil tones and a nice framing of vanillin oak. On the palate the wine is deep, full-bodied and very pure on the attack, with fine mid-palate depth, excellent nascent complexity, ripe tannins and great length and grip on the perfectly balanced finish. A very, very classy bottle of Beaune in the making."

The world's most influential fine-wine producer and the benchmark for Bordeaux, Burgundy, Champagne and the Rhone. Its appellation (AOC) system codifies geography, grape and method, and its wines set the global standard for age-worthiness and terroir expression.
Produces the world's most revered Pinot Noir and Chardonnay from a mosaic of tiny, terroir-defined climats. Its hierarchy of village, Premier Cru and Grand Cru vineyards makes site the ultimate expression of quality.
2009 in Burgundy was warm and sunny, producing ripe, rich and generous reds of hedonistic charm and supple tannins; the whites are opulent but can lack acidity, making them best enjoyed relatively young.
A thin-skinned, terroir-sensitive red producing perfumed, silky and elegant wines of red-berry fruit and earthy complexity. It reaches its apogee in Burgundy.
