"Deep garnet-purple in color and showing off an appealing nose of blackberries and black cherries with hints of lavender, anise and garrigue, the medium-bodied 2011 Apricot Block Shiraz offers a good amount of youthful, pepper-laced flavor in the mouth supported by medium level, grainy tannins and lively acid before finishing long. This is an atypical and more elegant style for this label, probably as a consequence of this atypical vintage; and yet offers a refreshingly different and very valid expression."
