"The 2009 Swan Russian River chardonnay is comprised of a blend of fruit from Saralee’s Vineyard and the Trenton Estate vineyard, as production levels were so small this year for the Trenton Estate (less than a full barrel) that Rod Berglund decided to blend it into the Saralee’s. The wine offers up a really beautiful nose of Myer lemon, a touch of pink grapefruit, salty soil tones, a nice touch of butter and just a whisper of fresh herbs in the upper register. On the palate the wine is deep, full-bodied, complex and tangy, with lovely focus, impeccable balance and impressive grip on the very long and classy finish. An outstanding chardonnay that should age gracefully for at least the next twelve to fifteen years."
