"Abundant quantities of freshly ground pepper and blackberry/cassis fruit jump from the glass of the 1997 Shiraz. It possesses spicy oak, medium to full body, and a nicely packaged, concentrated style."

Renowned for powerful, richly fruited Shiraz, most famously from the Barossa Valley, alongside age-worthy Cabernet and cool-climate whites. A warm climate and old, ungrafted vines produce wines of generosity and depth.
Syrah (Shiraz) produces dark, powerful reds with black fruit, pepper and smoked-meat notes. It yields elegant, perfumed wines in the northern Rhone and bold, rich styles in Australia.
