"Every bit as good, if not a touch better, the 2010 Syrah Les Galets Vineyard delivers a deep, meaty style with notions of currants, blackberry, smoked meat, cracked pepper, tobacco and masses of crushed stone / mineral qualities emerging from the glass. A full-bodied effort, with a voluptuous richness that comes through more with air, it stays beautifully light and clean on the palate, with little apparent weight. More structure and tannin emerge on the finish and, like all of McPrice’s 2010s, it needs short-term cellaring to come together. It is a gorgeous Syrah and will shine for over a decade."

The fourth-largest wine producer in the world, led by California. American fine wine is defined by ripe, expressive fruit and a spirit of innovation, with Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon among the most sought-after wines globally.
Syrah (Shiraz) produces dark, powerful reds with black fruit, pepper and smoked-meat notes. It yields elegant, perfumed wines in the northern Rhone and bold, rich styles in Australia.
