"The 2009 Gravains from the Camus family is a small step up from the two old vine villages bottlings, as it will probably deliver a bit more refined complexity at its apogee. The bouquet jumps from the glass in a superb mĂŠlange of black cherries, pomegranate, lovely minerality, incipient notes of grilled meat, woodsmoke, dark chocolate and cedar. On the palate the wine is deep, full and nicely reserved, with lovely complexity, fine-grained tannins, good mid-palate depth and a long, focused and classy finish. A fine, fine bottle in the making."
