"Slightly deeper yellow than the Macon-Pierreclos. Ripe, carnal aromas of apricot, buttery pastry dough, nut oil and honey. Huge, silky and mouthfilling, with superb sweetness of apricotty fruit leavened by sound acidity. Maintains plenty of freshness on the palate-staining finish. Guffens told me he only removed leaves two weeks before the harvest, and the partial shading of the fruit allowed for good retention of natural acidity. These two wines were bottled without fining or filtration, except for the last few liters of each barrel."
