"The name of the cuvée hails from the restaurant of the same name located right next to the parcel of vines, and the 2009 is a beautiful example of the vintage. The deep and very pure nose offers up a very Henri Jayer-like mélange of roasted black cherries and plums, woodsmoke, game, coffee and a deft framing of vanillin oak. On the palate the wine is deep, full-bodied, complex and well-balanced, with a sappy core of fruit, lovely plushness on the attack and impressive backend grip and structure perking up the very long and moderately tannic finish. This is quite ripe, but really well done in this style and should be a beautiful drink for at least the next couple of decades."

The world's most influential fine-wine producer and the benchmark for Bordeaux, Burgundy, Champagne and the Rhone. Its appellation (AOC) system codifies geography, grape and method, and its wines set the global standard for age-worthiness and terroir expression.
Produces the world's most revered Pinot Noir and Chardonnay from a mosaic of tiny, terroir-defined climats. Its hierarchy of village, Premier Cru and Grand Cru vineyards makes site the ultimate expression of quality.
2009 in Burgundy was warm and sunny, producing ripe, rich and generous reds of hedonistic charm and supple tannins; the whites are opulent but can lack acidity, making them best enjoyed relatively young.
