"This CuvĂ©e is composed from the following plots: Les Santenots du Dessus, Les Santenots du Milieu, Les Plures. Italian doctor Augustino Mazzoli was captivated by Beauneâs beauty, so he elected to live there, and became one of the HĂŽtel-Dieuâs first doctors, dying in 1505. One of his descendants was JĂ©han de Massol, a magistrate whose name was gallicized. On his death in 1669, he bequeathed his art collection [to the Hospices de Beaune], which saved the Hospices from ruin. This CuvĂ©e consists of Premier Cru vineyards in Les Plures and Santenots. A quarter of them were planted between 1948 and 1959, the balance having an average age of over 38 [years]."
