"The 2011 Nuits St. Georges “Perrières” from Domaine Robert Chevillon et Fils is simply superb, with the red fruity side of this great premier cru very much in evidence on both the nose and palate in this vintage. The outstanding bouquet jumps from the glass in a mix of cherries, pomegranate, blood orange, a great base of stony minerality, coffee, roses, herb tones and a touch of vanillin oak. On the palate the wine is deep, full-bodied and nascently complex, with a fine, sappy core of fruit, excellent soil inflection, ripe tannins and exceptional length and grip on the beautifully focused finish. A superb Perrières in the making."
