"Pale, green-tinged color. More minerally aromas of lemon, lime and stone; almost sauvignon-like following the broader 2001. Then brisk, limey and minerally in the mouth, with superb lift and energy. This could not be more different in style from the 2001. A fairly large-scaled wine . . . yet comes across as light and bright. The wine's 10 grams of residual sugar virtually disappear against its powerful 11 grams (!) of acidity. This may merit an outstanding rating with a couple years in bottle."

The world's most influential fine-wine producer and the benchmark for Bordeaux, Burgundy, Champagne and the Rhone. Its appellation (AOC) system codifies geography, grape and method, and its wines set the global standard for age-worthiness and terroir expression.
Sheltered by the Vosges mountains, Alsace produces aromatic, mostly dry varietal whites - Riesling, Gewurztraminer and Pinot Gris - of exceptional purity and ageability.
A highly aromatic white of piercing acidity and transparency to terroir, ranging from bone-dry to lusciously sweet. It ages remarkably and is the noble grape of Germany and Alsace.
