"I am not sure what to write about the 1995 Coteaux du Layon Cuvee Anthologie. Wines this fabulous are impossible to describe. For the record, let me say, this wine has 315 grams of residual sugar, a rose/amber-like color, and is a quintessential sweet Chenin Blanc. Made from one (that's 1) hectoliter per hectare (unbelievable!), the wine boasts a spectacular nose of honey, orange marmalade, intriguing floral scents, and a touch of liquid stone. Enormously rich, massive, and intense, yet frighteningly well-delineated, this is a monumental example of what heights the Chenin Blanc grape can achieve in the Loire Valley. It should prove to be a legend, and will last for 50+ years."
