"Very dark purple-edged red. Brooding, very closed nose suggests dark plum, cassis and blackberry, intermeshed with dark chocolate and cedary oak notes and a whiff of briar. Assertive and powerful; a long-term red whose rich palate of dark fruit is tightly integrated with a firm spine of youthfully astringent tannins. Tough and rather unyielding at the moment, but should develop slowly and gracefully over the long term."

Renowned for powerful, richly fruited Shiraz, most famously from the Barossa Valley, alongside age-worthy Cabernet and cool-climate whites. A warm climate and old, ungrafted vines produce wines of generosity and depth.
The world's most planted premium red grape, yielding deeply colored, tannic and structured wines with cassis, cedar and graphite notes. Firm tannins and acidity make it exceptionally age-worthy, whether as a varietal or the backbone of a Bordeaux blend.
