"Pale, bright yellow. Exuberant aromas of citrus zest, chlorophyll and mint. Juicy, sappy and fresh, with fruit-driven flavors of lemon, apple, minerals, spices, nut butter and mint. Very intensely flavored and dominated by the sauvignon today. Offers terrific penetration and cut. The sauvignon blanc here was harvested with 14% potential alcohol but unusually high acidity of 5.5 grams per liter, notes Edange. (In ripe years here, the acidity is normally between 3.5 and 4.0 grams.) "Our white wine is usually in a Chevalier-Montrachet style, like the 2005," said Edange. "In 2006 it's more like Corton-Charlemagne, and the wine was very aromatic from the beginning." A good portion of the fruit was picked during hot, dry weather in early September. This should enjoy a very long life in bottle."

The world's most influential fine-wine producer and the benchmark for Bordeaux, Burgundy, Champagne and the Rhone. Its appellation (AOC) system codifies geography, grape and method, and its wines set the global standard for age-worthiness and terroir expression.
The world's largest fine-wine region, built around blends of Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot. Divided by the Gironde estuary into the structured Left Bank and the plush, Merlot-led Right Bank, it is the historic benchmark for age-worthy claret and sweet Sauternes.
In the Graves, the only Bordeaux appellation renowned for both reds and dry whites. Gravelly soils yield smoky, mineral reds and age-worthy Sauvignon-Semillon blends.
