"One of the hardest wines to find among Beringer's superstars is their Chabot Vineyard (from the Napa Valley) Cabernet Sauvignon. The production of approximately 300 cases is aged in 100% new oak and is made from frightfully small yields. The 1990 Cabernet Sauvignon Chabot Vineyard is just being released. It is a gorgeously rich, velvety-textured, opulent wine with layers of chocolatey, cassis fruit. Rich and full-bodied, it is a more tannic wine than the Bancroft Merlot, but, wow, what personality!"
