"The 2007 Carema Etichetta Nera is a little less aromatically complex than the Etichetta Bianca and more full-bodied through the mid-palate and finish. It boasts superb juiciness in its dark cherries, plums, sweet herbs and spices. The oak is exceptionally well-integrated in this vintage. I often prefer the Etichetta Bianca, but in 2007 both wines are striking for their beauty and sheer expressiveness. The round, caressing finish makes it nearly impossible to put the glass down."

Italy grows more indigenous grape varieties than any other country and produces wine in all 20 of its regions. From Piedmont's Nebbiolo to Tuscany's Sangiovese, its finest wines pair structure and bright acidity with a strong sense of place.
In Italy's northwest, Piedmont is home to Nebbiolo, the grape behind the powerful, perfumed and long-lived reds of Barolo and Barbaresco. Fog-shrouded hills and calcareous soils define its greatest wines.
