Here the wood influence is a bit more obvious though by no means intrusive as it sets off ripe, airy and elegant purple, violet and spice aromas that precede sophisticated, minerally and palate staining flavors blessed with ample dry extract while finishing with power and punch on the velvety finish. This is a seductive wine in 2007, at least at present, which is different than the firm and somewhat austere character it often displays when young.
