“The dark plum/garnet-colored 1993 Brunello di Montalcino offers up a knock-out nose of fruitcake, Asian spices, incense, flowers, red and black fruits, earth, and minerals. It is one of the most complex bouquets I have ever smelled in a wine. In the mouth, it is sweet, ripe, and round, with exceptional purity and ripeness, but, surprisingly, not the weight one would associate with such a provocative and persistent fragrance…This fascinating wine is made in extremely limited quantities as the estate's production is approximately 2,000 cases.”

Italy grows more indigenous grape varieties than any other country and produces wine in all 20 of its regions. From Piedmont's Nebbiolo to Tuscany's Sangiovese, its finest wines pair structure and bright acidity with a strong sense of place.
The heartland of Sangiovese, producing Chianti Classico, Brunello di Montalcino and the Cabernet-influenced 'Super Tuscans' of the coast. Its wines balance bright acidity, savory structure and cellar-worthiness.
A powerful, age-worthy Sangiovese from the warm hills of Montalcino, requiring extended aging and prized for depth and longevity.
