"Very pale lemon-yellow color. Reticent but pure scents of minerals and lemon oil. Then seriously rich and fat in the mouth, but with more acidity and structure than the basic Vaillons cuvée. This large-scaled premier cru, from a crop level of just 25 hectoliters per hectare, shows terrific citrus and mineral firmness but it's also plush and sweet and not at all hard. I was surprised when Dauvissat told me it weighs in at 14% alcohol, as it boasts plenty of buffering material. Finishes with slowly building length and a hint of white truffle." |
