"(aged in used French oak barrels for six months): Deep ruby. Cherry compote, licorice and dark chocolate on the deeply scented nose. The palate shows very good depth and power, offering bitter cherry and cassis flavors on entry, developing smoke and peppery spice qualities in the mid-palate. Finishes on a gently tannic note, with firm cut and lingering cherry pit and bitter chocolate notes. Despite its richness, this wine is surprisingly lithe." |
