"A more deeply pitched array is composed mostly of plum liqueur, dark cherry and notably more earth influence. There is also more volume and muscle though less refinement to the medium-bodied flavors that deliver excellent length on the focused and sneaky long finale." |

"Bright red-ruby. Very ripe aromas of black raspberry, flowers and earth show a bit less lift than those of the Carelle Sous La Chapelle. In a rather closed phase today; chunkier, drier and less elegant than the Carelle but still finer-grained than its 2015 sibling, offering flavors of dark berries, medicinal cherry stomp and licorice. Here the serious dusty tannins arrive early, saturating the front teeth and incisors. Finishes with a suggestion of menthol reserve." Vinous 90-91 Points
