Review: “Barrel Sample. Named after the turrets that surmount the château of Pichon Longueville, this wine has its own dedicated portion of the vineyard. It is open, generous and full bodied. Ripe berry fruits dominate while still leaving room for the fresh acidity typical of the 2014 vintage.”

“The currant and berry character with hints of chocolate is impressive on the nose. Full body, tangy acidity and soft and velvety tannins. It’s rich and satisfying. Second wine of Pichon Baron.” James Suckling 92 Points

“The 2014 Les Tourelles de Longueville is soft, pliant and giving, all qualities that make it an excellent choice for drinking now and over the next few years. Sweet red cherry, raspberry and plump red fruit are front and center. Les Tourelles de Longueville emerges from specific parcels within the Pichon-Baron property where the soils tend to produce a more savory style than is typically found in the Grand Vin and Griffons. The blend is 65 % Merlot, 20 % Cabernet Sauvignon, 10 % Cabernet Franc and 5 % Petit Verdot.” Vinous
