Cantine del Castello di Conti Boca Il Rosso delle Donne 2018, 0.75L
Nebbiolo / Vespolina / Uva Rara from Boca, Piedmont

"The 2018 Boca Il Rosso delle Donne is a very pure, focused wine built more on linear energy rather than power. Dried cherry, orange peel, spice, mint, anise and alpine herbs give this mid-weight, ethereal wine plenty of nuance and presence. The 2018 is fabulous. Readers who appreciate subtle reds will adore it." 94 Antonio Galloni, Vinous

Castello Conti Origini Vino Rosso 2018, 0.75L
Nebbiolo / Bonarda / Vespolina / Barbera / Uva Rara from Piedmont, Piedmont

". . .This lovely, lively wine made from a field blend of grapes local to the Alto Piemonte, including Nebbiolo, Bonarda, Vespolina, Barbera and Uva Rara, is from organically farmed vineyards. The Conti family, famous for its Boca, has created this classic wine which captures the freshness and also the seriousness of this almost mystical Terroir."  â€‹Importer Notes, Rosenthal Wine Merchant

Ferrando Carema Etichetta Bianca 2018, 0.75L
Nebbiolo from Carema, Piedmont

"If there is any wine that defines the Ferrando “oeuvre” it is this one: the white label Carema. No single wine in our portfolio is more illustrative of our work than this brilliant rendition of Nebbiolo. Produced exclusively from the Nebbiolo grape planted in a series of vineyards that sit beneath Mont Blanc (Monte Bianco) in a broad amphitheatre with full southern exposure overlooking the river, Dora Baltea, that runs from the snow-capped mountains south through the Valle d’Aosta into the northwestern range of Piedmont slicing the city of Ivrea in half. The vines are trained in a special way on pergola (known as “tupin” in local dialect) to obtain maximum exposure to the sun in this high altitude district and are planted to soils that are dominated by slate. The appellation of Carema is extremely small: only 16 hectares (approximately 40 acres) are planted to the vine..." â€‹Rosenthal Wine Merchant

Guido Porro Barolo Vigna S. Caterina 2018, 0.75L
Nebbiolo from Barolo, Piedmont

"The Guido Porro 2018 Barolo V. S. Caterina shows tannins that are soft and fine, giving this wine an accessible approach. The wine's complexity creeps up on you with dried fruit, wild cherry, earth and grilled herb delivered over a lean-bodied style. Those tannins give the wine a little more bite and grip." 92 Points, Monica Larner, Wine Advocate

Roagna Barbaresco Paje 2018, 0.75L
Nebbiolo from Barbaresco, Piedmont

"Fresh, lively and linear in profile, racy even, this red exhibits strawberry, cherry, hibiscus, iron and mown hay flavors, with a vibrant structure, fine harmony and a long, fruit- and mineral-tinged finish. Best from 2026 through 2045. 543 cases made." 95, Bruce Sanderson, Wine Spectator.com, Apr 2024

Roagna Barbera d'Alba 2018, 0.75L
Barbera from Barbera d'Alba, Piedmont

"The 2018 Barbera d'Alba all from Pira, is a very pretty, aromatic wine. In this vintage, the Barbera is a bit more floral and savory, but ess texturally intense than in many years, but that adds to its accessibility. Cedar, tobacco, dried herbs, autumn leaves and earthy notes linger." 90, Antonio Galloni, Vinous, Sep 2023

Roagna Langhe Rosso 2018, 0.75L
Nebbiolo from Langhe, Piedmont

""The 2018 Langhe Rosso is 100% Nebbiolo from Barolo and Barbaresco-designated vineyards. Dried red cherry, mint, spice, tobacco, dried leaves and worn-in leather all grace this super-expressive, ethereal Langhe Rosso. The 2018 comes across as a bit mature aromatically, so I would not push my luck on aging. Even so, it is a delicious wine for readers who want to experience a Nebbiolo with early tertiary complexity. In this vintage Luca Roagna was especially selective with what he bottled for his top wines, so production for the Langhe Rosso is nearly double what it is in most years." 90, Antonio Galloni, Vinous, Sep 2023

Cabreo Toscana Il Borgo 2018, 0.75L
Sangiovese / Cabernet Sauvignon / Merlot from Tuscany, Tuscany

"This is a very pretty, with currant, cherry and some mahogany and cigar-box character. It’s medium-to full-bodied with tight, linear tannins that are long and very intense. Polished nicely. Hard not to drink now, but better in 2024 and onwards." 94 James Suckling, JamesSuckling.com

"A blend of equal parts Sangiovese, Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot, the 2018 Il Borgo is a renewed wine with this vintage. Past editions saw a blend of mostly Sangiovese with Cabernet Sauvignon in a supporting role. This release is softer on the mid-palate with darkly extracted fruit. The wine reveals dark cherry, spice and hints of bittersweet chocolate that give it a very contemporary, accessible personality. Fruit is sourced from across 40 hectares of vine." 92 Monica Larner, Wine Advocate, Feb 2023

Fabio Motta Le Gonnare Bolgheri 2018, 0.75L
Merlot / Syrah from Bolgheri, Tuscany

"Fabio Motta is one of the best performers in Bolgheri among the small producers of the next generation. Almost ready with his new winery, it represents a kind of garagiste in the appellation. He ferments all the wines with natural yeast and manages careful extraction and maceration. His original blend for Le Gonnare sees an addition of Syrah to complete the 85% of Merlot and is aged in 1/3 new French oak barriques. Intense and perfumed it shows kiwi peel and cedar wood aromas, loaded with restrained cassis and bitter orange flavour. The attack is dense and ripe with elegant texture and chewy tension on the finish." 95 Aldo Fiordelli, Decanter Magazine

"Extremely complex and darkly primary in profile, with alternating notes of black plum, blackberry, incense, black tea leaves, licorice stick, and sandalwood. The palate is splendid, combining notes of blood orange and cut cedar. Full bodied with soft tannins, good structure, and a horizontal finish . . ." 92 Raffaele Vecchione, mmt.WinesCritic.com

Val delle Corti Chianti Classico Riserva 2018, 0.75L
Sangiovese from Chianti Classico, Tuscany

“This is an impressive new release from Val delle Corti in Radda in Chianti. With 5,000 bottles released, the 2018 Chianti Classico Riserva shows an immediate level of austerity and complexity that relaxes to display dark fruit, earth, rusty nail and candied orange peel. There is a Pinot-Noiresque quality to this wine that makes it very attractive. I heartily recommend this under-the-radar discovery. Fruit comes from a cool site at 450 meters in elevation with calcareous marl soils with lots of rock. The vines were planted in 1974.” 94 Wine Advocate.

Lo Triolet Pinot Noir 2018, 0.75L
Pinot Noir from Valle d'Aosta, Valle d'Aosta

"With glacier soils and extreme, high-altitude weather, Valle d'Aosta is one of the most difficult places to grow Pinot Noir, not to mention the arduous task of farming its steep slopes. However, the Lo Triolet 2018 Vallée d'Aoste Pinot Noir makes it look easy thanks to the careful balance and delicate varietal flavors inherent to this wine. It reveals blue flower, rosebud, orange peel, nutmeg and crushed stone. This is a silky, polished and lean-bodied expression to celebrate with an aged Formagella from one of Valle d'Aosta's many cheesemaking valleys." 94 Points Monica Larner, The Wine Advocate
