Right Bank Rarities…Ex-Château La Croix de Gay and La Fleur de Gay, In Stock Now!
The Right Bank region of Bordeaux is a bit more difficult for collectors to navigate in that things become suddenly more mysterious, almost Burgundian, upon crossing the Gironde and heading east towards Libourne, the center of commercial activity in Pomerol. In contrast to the well-delineated roads and ostentatious estates of the Medoc, St. Émilion and Pomerol derive their identity from small, farmhouse-like properties with hard to find locations and back roads that are often not clearly marked. If Cabernet is King of Bordeaux's Medoc, Merlot is the Royal Prince of the Right Bank. Click here to learn more, and to see this week's inventory list...

Bid Now on Amazing DRC Assortment Cases in the Summer Auction!
As is the case with most things Burgundian, there are no simple or straight paths to answers. Chronicling the history and origins of the DRC assortment case is a speculative task at best. It is thought, however, by many that the initial goal of formulating an assortment case of the domaine’s wines ensured a sell-through of what were thought at the time to be the “lesser wines” of the portfolio. Given the legendary status of Romanée Conti, the vineyard, as well as the monopole La Tâche, this was a well-founded concern. Coupled with the high quality emanating from other Burgundian estates with regards to common vineyard holdings in Richebourg, Echézeaux and Grands Echézeaux as well the domaine’s mixed track record with regards to, in particular, Romanée St. Vivant, it became especially important, from a business standpoint, to maintain liquidity and cash flow in turbulent economic times.
