95 RP. "The 2001 Chardonnay Kistler Vineyard is a tightly-knit offering. Light gold-colored with considerable glycerin and power, it exhibits a liquid minerality, and a big, rich, textured style with huge concentration. Most of the wine’s character is at the back of the palate. This offering reminds me of a Batard-Montrachet from the likes of Louis Latour. With extraordinary length, richness, precision, and purity."
