Lot #70. WITHDRAWN

Description: Consists of 1 Magnum, 1.5L
Score: 91 AM.
(bottled and shipped by Maison Joseph Drouhin; approximately 1 of ullage). An elegant, spicy and fully mature nose that offers plenty of aromatic breadth leads to medium weight, slightly soft flavors that offer good if not exceptional precision and fine finishing complexity. This is beginning to tire and while it's still absolutely lovely, the power that this once had has slowly, if gracefully, dissipated. That said, if you have the chance, don't miss it as it still offers plenty of admire. Another recent bottle with 3 cm of ullage was a good deal less impressive as it possessed a slightly cooked nose though the flavors were round, sweet and supple with a mouth coating finish; this is nowhere near as good as the '52. Another recent bottle displayed very heavy VA and was disappointing. Allen Meadows, July 28, 2005
Notes: 7cm, chipped, corroded, and wine stained wax capsule, partially exposing cork, lightly scuffed and lightly bin soiled label, nicked at edge, #8261.
