92 JG. "This is a very classy bottle of chardonnay, as it offers up a complex nose of apple, gentle leesy tones, a hint of pineapple, pretty soil tones, a touch of Meursault-like nuttiness and a gentle base of new oak. On the palate the wine is deep, full-bodied and crisp, with nascent complexity, good mid-palate depth, lovely focus and grip and a long, fairly ripe, but cool finish. With its fine focus and structural integrity, this is a lovely wine that shows every signs of aging gracefully for at least a decade. Given that the Alpine Vineyard was only planted between 2001 and 2003, this is a very impressive bottle of chardonnay for such young vines."
