95 RP. "As for the 2013 Cabernet Sauvignon 1873, this is 100% Cabernet Sauvignon generally from eastern Napa Valley hillside vineyards. Multi-dimensional, with tremendous concentration and richness, this wine has a dense purple color, unctuously thick, juicy, yet well-balanced crème de cassis, blackberry and blueberry flavors, a floral component, and a long, powerful finish. This is a classic stunner from this great vintage in Napa, and while approachable now, it won't hit its prime for another 5-6 years and then evolve for 25-30 or more. These three Cabernets from Hall were not presented when I did my review of the Hall wines in last fall 's Northern California report. Hall has been producing fabulous wines of late, and all three of these cuvées are indicative of their very low yields, their selective harvesting passes through the vineyard and draconian sorting strategy, use of indigenous yeasts, and no fining or filtration."
