93 RJ. "This is the first, most expensive, and most sought after of the collector bottles. Just like the '81, Taittinger never released a regular vintage in 1978. It is obvious that they wanted to make a fine and concentrated wine for their debut. The fruit is exotic and surprisingly rich, and the mousse is exemplary as usual. One of the foremost Champagnes of the vintage. The price is an outrage, even considering Vasareli's beautiful golden bottle." Richard Juhlin, ChampagneClub.com, May 2008 |
