94 RH. "Dark crimson color with a lighter ruby rim. An herbal essence emerged from the glass along with spearmint, cherry and cinnamon spice. Full-bodied and undeniably hot, but not over the top. The palate featured sweet caramel and boysenberry fruit and a lifted eucalyptus accent. Smooth and rich with focused intensity, tannins that let you know they were still in play and a sumptuous and voluptuous finish that still exhibits spirit. This was the best example of any 1977 Graham’s I’ve ever had, but I chalk that up to the evolution more than the provenance, which is a good thing . . ." Roy Hersh, ForTheLoveOfPort.com, Jan 2009 |
