93 AG. "The 2011 Barolo Terlo Vigna Costa Grimaldi is the most complete of the wines in this range, largely the result of this site's slightly shelted exposure, something that is always an asset in warmer years. Expressive aromatic overtones add lift and precision to a core of pliant, racy fruit in a Barolo that captures the best qualities of the vintage while retaining plenty of poise. Dark red stone fruits, cherry pit, menthol and cinnamon are some of the many notes that are laced into the enticing finish. The Costa Grimaldi is quite a bit deeper and darker than the straight Terlo, but it also has a bit more nuance and better overall balance." Vinous, Mar 2015 |
